Staples Prices Offering of $226.68 Million of its Common Stock

FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Staples, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPLS) today announced that it had entered into an agreement to sell 12,000,000 shares of its common stock at a price of $18.89 per share in a public offering. All of the shares are being offered by Staples. Staples intends to use the net proceeds from the sale of its common stock for working capital and general corporate purposes.

Staples has granted the underwriters an option to purchase up to 1,800,000 additional shares to cover over-allotments. Credit Suisse First Boston and Goldman, Sachs & Co. are jointly managing the offering.
